About Tsinghua-Rio Tinto Resources, Energy and Sustainable Development Research Center

Tsinghua-Rio Tinto Resources, Energy and Sustainable Development Research Center is a joint scientific research institute established with the approval of the School Administrative Committee of Tsinghua University. Relying on the Low-carbon Energy Laboratory of Tsinghua University, it integrates related colleges and departments in the university and organizes interdisciplinary research teams to develop research on critical issues like energy, mineral resources, and sustainable development globally — especially in China. The Center will research the best international practices of energy, mineral resources, and sustainable development, as well as conducting cooperative studies with other domestic and international organizations. Its purpose is to contribute to China and global sustainable development and to become a leading research institute on global issues in resources, energy, and sustainable development.
